Mirror stage镜像阶段原意指法国心理学家雅克拉康提出的婴儿意识到镜中我的过程，但是镜中我始终是虚幻的映射，是在他者中看到的自我，而镜像阶段的完成在某种意义上也意味着人类固化身份的形成，本片以此为主题，讲述了现实在个体上的映射与其中混乱的自我意识交织，企图向理想的回忆和幻想求救，但人类注定会背负上身份的盔甲，意识到时已是无法改变的历史，对应镜像阶段的三个阶段：混乱，理想，现实。
